Kossack Stand Strong had an excellent idea.
He suggests that every Democratic voter paint one of their index fingers blue in representation of not only our Democratic vote, but our steadfast repudiation of the President and his evil Republican Party.
Indeed, we have the power to steal away on their more memorable photo ops of the Iraq War...
Cross Posted in Orange and Green.
On the Eve of Blogosphere Day, I spent my evening (and a considerable part of the work day) with Chris Bowers of MyDD, BooMan, and the other denizens of Drinking Liberally and stars of the Philly Blogosphere (among them Atrios). Chris and I went to the screening of Inconvenient Truth, which featured a question and answer session with the former Vice President and current legitimate President himself.
Chris and I arrived promptly at 4:00 p.m. I arrived before Chris and had to spurn the advances of Green Party petitioners who seized the opportunity of Al Gore's appearance for a petition drive to get them on the ballot.
Every week, I will profile a Democrat that interests me in some way. He or she may be in the news, or not. He or she can be a candidate, a Governor, a Senator, or a Representative. I believe this will be a great way to get to know our Democratic Party better.
Feel free to discuss your agreements and disagreements with the person I profile in the comments. I also hope that people who live in the state or district represented or governed by the Profilee will provide antidotes and information as well.
This Week's Democrat is Congressman Ike Skelton, D-Missouri.

What dawned was...."This is it."
This is the one event that will start a huge domino affect. For the last three decades, after the 1979 gas lines and the Energy Crisis, the debate of energy consumption and conservation has been pretty much the same. The conservatives and Republicans stated the following: 1) Humans can do no long term damage to the Earth; 2) As such, there is no need for cleaner technology or cleaner burning fuel; 3) As such, there is no need for government regulations that punish corporations for pollution emissions or give incentives to corporations that develop clearner alternatives; 4) the price of gas is rising due to environmental regulations and taxes, not because of oil industry greed or lack of supply; 5) we cannot build more refineries because of environmental regulations.
I am a pretty religious Catholic who believes in Jesus Christ. But I can treat the Bible as something less than the absolute truth. Indeed, I believe it is one large allegory preaching to primative and medieval man values and morals.
There are some fantastic stories in the Bible that as a kid I was skeptical about.
I mean, come on, the Red Sea just parting for Moses? Yeah, that doesn't wash. The entire planet flooded, and only Noah and his ark full of humans and animals surviving? Unlikely, as we would have evidence of it in the worldwide fossil record.
The world created in just 6 days? I rather believe William Jennings Bryan's theory in the Scopes Monkey trial that a day back in biblical times could have lasted millions of years.
And there is the want. The Philadelphia Eagles will be dispatching with the lowly Minnesota Vikings and the scumbag Randy Moss this Sunday, and I must celebrate.
So if any MyDDians wish to join me in Philly, post a comment.
